During its WWDC 2020 keynote today, Apple officially announced iOS 14 for iPhone and iPod touch. The update brings a variety of new features and design changes. Read on for all of the details on this year’s flagship update to iOS 14. iOS 14 adds a new App Library view for organizing all of your apps. Apps are automatically organized in the App Library, and you don’t have to keep all of the icons on your actual home screen view....

Apple has today pushed a minor update to its popular Mac video editing tool Final Cut Pro X. Today’s update brings the app to version 10.4.3 with a few new features. The most notable change in the update is support for viewing and editing ProRes RAW files from the DJI Inspire 2 with the DJI D-Log setting. Today’s version comes out only a month after the previous release, which was also a bug fix update....

In addition to a notable update to Final Cut Pro X, Apple has also announced updates to iMovie for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. iMovie for iPhone and iPad has added new filters, 25 new soundtracks, and more. iMovie on the Mac has also added new filters as well as improved integration with iMovie for iOS. For iPhone and iPad users, iMovie has three new filters that give videos “a hand-drawn look....

While Apple will offer extensive in-store sales and try-on experiences in Apple Stores, the company will also allow customers to virtually try on an Apple Watch or Apple Watch Edition and receive setup support, according to sources. Prior to purchasing either of two higher-end Apple Watches, customers will be able to video chat with an Apple Online Store representative who will personally try-on and model Apple Watch collections and band combinations....

Apple is teaming up with women-owned investment adviser Seelaus Asset Management, according to a new report from Bloomberg. This means that Apple will allocate a portion of its cash to the investment adviser to “support a new one-year rotational job program for women.” The Bloomberg report explains what this means: Seelaus Asset Management called Apple’s move a “step forward” for women-owned asset managers. Currently, women are “critically underrepresented,” the company’s CEO explained:...

Apple issued a press release (and updated iOS 4.2 page) ahead of the iOS 4.2 beta that just hit. In it, they detail the new AirPrint standard and its ability to work with HP ePrint printers. To confuse matters slightly, HP offers an iPrint iOS app (pictured below) that does iOS printing. It appears that MacOS 10.6.5 will also allow printing through a Mac with current developer builds offering that functionality....

After months of waiting, Apple’s TV streaming service Apple TV+ is now live. You can start watching on any platform that offers the Apple TV app, from iPhone to iPad to Apple TV and support non-Apple devices, as well as on the web at tv.apple.com. Apple’s TV offering provides no back catalog of content, instead focusing on exclusive originals. Apple is launching with a library of nine titles, with a couple more announced to release over the next few weeks....

While WWDC won’t be for another 6 months at the very least, Apple has today updated its WWDC app with a handful of new features such as supporting the new iPad Pro display sizes. Today’s update brings the app to version 7.1 and is available as a free update on the App Store. It adds a new today widget, as well as 3D Touch actions on the Home screen. You’ll also now have a Continue Watching collection that keeps an ongoing list of videos you’ve been viewing, and videos that you may want to watch later....

8/14 Update: As expected, Apple Watch is now available from Best Buy online and in select retail stores. Even before Apple shakes up the lineup with new bands and software next month, the Apple Watch is continuing its initial launch around the world. Israel, which doesn’t have an Apple Retail Store presence and instead relies on authorized resellers, is will be selling the Apple Watch locally for the first time next week. iDigital, an authorized reseller owned by iCon Group in Israel, is expected to carry the Apple Watch Sport as well as select stainless steel models from 1,999 NIS, or about $430 USD without tax, starting Thursday, February 11th....

The second season of Apple TV+’s original comedy/drama Dickinson will debut this Friday, January 8. Ahead of that debut, Apple will hold a virtual “advance screening” of the new season on January 7 at 5 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. ET. Those interested in joining can apply for tickets on Apple’s website. Apple today has further expanded its TV application on iOS and tvOS. Following the addition of a dedicated Sports section a few months ago, users can now use the TV app to access live streaming news content from several different sources… While not as extensive as the Sports interface, the News section in the TV app allows users to instantly access live streaming news content from several different networks. You get direct access to CBS News, CNN, Fox News, Cheddar, CNBC, and Bloomberg....

Last week Apple sent out invites for an education focused event set to take place in New York City this Thursday, Jan. 19 at the Guggenheim museum. Originally released back in October, Apple partnered with French leather fashion company Hermès for a lineup of high-end leather bands for the Apple Watch. The Hermès bands, however, have only been available from Apple stores and Hermès stores in big cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Miami. Starting this Friday, however, the Hermès collection will be available online from both Hermes.com and Apple.com (via Fashionista). All three Hermès bands will be available online....

UK-based electronics repair site iPhonefixed has gotten its hands on one of the sapphire crystal displays to be used in the mid-range and high-end Apple Watch models and put it through a bevy of quick scratch tests to see how it would fare. After taking everything from sandpaper to a hammer and even a power drill to the cover, iPhonefixed’s testers were unable to put so much as a scratch on the sapphire surface....
