Apple’s iOS has won a big thumbs-up from the Angry Birds themselves, who say that when it comes to mobile devices, Apple’s going to excel against the rest. “Apple will be the number one platform for a long time from a developer perspective, they have gotten so many things right,” said Peter Vesterbacka, Angry Birds development lead. And there’s more advantages for AAPL in the mobile space, he says, “they know what they are doing and they call the shots,” he added....

In its continued full-court Earth Day press, Apple is expanding its Reuse & Recycling program to help responsibly recycle more devices and get current generation devices into the hands of more customers. As of this morning, the iPad is now eligible for the in-store Reuse & Recycling program at Apple Retail Store locations that allows customers to receive credit for their aging Apple devices. In the past, customers could only receive trade-in credit for iPhones....

Apple today released updates to its Pages, Numbers, and Keynote apps for iPhone and iPad, adding a new library of over 500 professionally drawn shapes to all apps and a handful of other features to each. All of the apps are gaining the ability to reply to comments and join threaded conversations, as well as new auto-correction and text replacement functionality. Pages is gaining support for exporting documents as fixed layout ePub books....

The Apple versus chip engineer court battle has begun, with a judge ruling on pre-trial motions from both sides. Apple is suing Gerard Williams III for breach of contract after he left Apple in March of last year and set up his own chip company. Williams is credited with leading the development of all the A-series processors from the A7 chip in the iPhone 5s in 2013 through to the A12X chip used in the current iPad Pro range…...

Angry Birds Space version 1.3.0: Continuing with a consistent line up of new content following the app’s initial release, today Rovio teamed up with NASA to release an updated Angry Birds Space with 20 new levels set on Mars. Also included is two antenna egg levels, a new astronaut pig, and “three hidden rovers and landers to open special bonus levels and discover more about the NASA missions!” Cut the Rope version 1....

Apple, today, has filed a lawsuit against Motorola over their use of Qualcomm technology, as reported by Reuters. Apple explains that Motorola has breached a contract pertaining to their use of a patent license and “asks this Court to enjoin Motorola from prosecuting and 4 enforcing its claims against Apple in Germany.” The root of the lawsuit is essentially Apple’s strike-back at Motorola for attempting to stop sales of Apple’s 3G products in Germany....

Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, co-creators of Once Upon a Time are now executive producers for an upcoming reboot of Amazing Stories by Apple. Variety reports that the duo will act as executive producers and showrunners for the show. In the past, they’ve worked on shows such as Popular, Lost, and worked on movies such as Tron: Uprising. While Apple is still remaining quiet about working on any shows or movies whatsoever, there have been multiple reports of the company working on a vast catalog of original content....

Over the last week, YouTuber users have been reporting an error message claiming that “something went wrong” when trying to load a video on the YouTube app on the Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K. YouTube says it is aware of this issue and investigating a fix. “For 2 days now, the YouTube app for Apple TV has not been working. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. The new version has not pushed to my Apple TV yet....

Apple has urged the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) to leave the so-called ‘super-high’ radio spectrum free for use for 5G and other uses that may be developed later. The FCC licenses a number of different radio spectrums, which means that they are reserved for a specific purpose, like mobile voice calls or television. Unlicensed radio spectrum can be used for a variety of purposes, and Apple wants to see frequencies in the 95GHz to 3000GHz range remain unlicensed …...

The United States is said to exclude Apple Watch and AirPods from its next round of tariffs that will be imposed on Chinese goods. As Bloomberg reports, the U.S. government is expected to release its final list on Monday, revealing as much as $200 billion in Chinese products that will see a 10 percent tariff. Notably, the Apple Watch and AirPods, along with several other smartwatches and fitness trackers made by other brands were not seen on the list....

The Rockville, Md.-based firm’s poll results have proved prescient, predicting the rise in PC sales for Apple and Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) and the downturn for Dell (DELL) in recent years. The latest ChangeWave consumer poll found that 29% of likely notebook and desktop PC buyers in the next 90 days are planning to get a Mac. That’s higher than consumer purchase intent for HP laptops (21%), HP desktops (24%) and Dell laptops (28%)....

While many have questioned how Apple plans to deliver its original content to customers, a new report from CNBC today aims to offer more details on the Apple streaming TV service. According to the report, Apple plans to give its original content away for free to users of its hardware products. Citing sources familiar with the matter, CNBC says that the Apple streaming TV service will combine original content with existing “subscription services from legacy media companies....

Apple has agreed to repay $4.2M to settle a claim by the L.A. Unified School District over the disastrous attempt to put an iPad into the hands of every student, reports the Los Angeles Times. It was first reported back in April that the LAUSD might take legal action against Apple to recoup the money spent on iPads for the program. Apple had initially expected to earn $30M from the first phase, a number that would have reached around a quarter of a billion dollars if the rollout had been completed as originally planned....

Apple TV+ today secured its first Oscar nominations, with Wolfwalkers nominated for Best Animated Feature and Greyhound nominated for Best Sound. Although Apple has missed out on recognition in major categories like Best Actor/Actress or Best Picture this year, its nomination for Wolfwalkers is substantial. Across the bevy of Hollywood critic awards shows, Wolfwalkers has been battling out against Pixar’s Soul, and both are seen as top contenders (although at the Oscars, it is rare for Pixar movies not to win)....

A new drama series is set to debut on Apple TV+ called Lessons in Chemistry. According to Variety, Brie Larson will executive produce as well as star in the new series. Based on an upcoming novel from writer Bonnie Garmus, the show will be set in the early 1960s and follow Elizabeth Scott, played by Larson. The character has aspirations of becoming a scientist, but that quickly becomes unrealistic due to the times and expectations for women to stay at home....

Apple is testing a local, offline version of Dictation voice input for iOS devices, according to strings of code found inside of the iOS 7 beta. The code, which was discovered by Hamza Sood, is located inside of both iOS 7 betas, but it is not present in iOS 6. Currently, when an iOS user uses their voice to input text using Dictation, the iOS device will use software that uploads your speech to the cloud to be converted into text....

Much as we had expected, Apple has finally (and quietly) launched the Apple TV in India, priced at Rs.7900 (~$150). Going by the retail price of $99 in the US, some people were expecting the Apple TV to be priced around Rs.6990, but not to be.
