Apple plans to add 1200 new jobs in San Diego over the next three years with some posts occupied by the end of 2019. Company representatives and San Diego’s mayor made the announcement this morning at the UTC mall Apple Store. In a December press release, Apple first referred to expansion plans for San Diego and many other locations across the US. At the time, Apple promised to hire 1,000 San Diego employees....

Following Apple’s media event yesterday afternoon, where the company’s all-new Lightning connector was introduced, The Verge confirmed with Apple that there are two new adapters on the way. According to the report, Apple will introduce Lightning to HDMI and Lightning to VGA adapters to compliment its new connector. Many were shocked to learn yesterday that the $29 Lightning to 30-pin adapter does not support video out, but you should be in the clear with the two adapters shown off this evening....

Messages posted this weekend to Apple’s website confirm that the company’s Covent Garden and Wangfujing retail stores will close later this month to be refreshed with new store designs. Closing on June 24th, Apple Wangfujing first opened on October 20, 2012, making it just one week older than Apple Palo Alto, which began renovations last month. Apple Covent Garden will follow suit just three days later on June 27th. The London location first opened in July 2010 as Apple’s 300th store and was called the “world’s largest” at the time....

With the help of a lack of an Apple-manufactered iPhone 5 case, Apple’s retail stores have so far lacked any sort of iPhone 5 covers. However, Apple Stores will begin stocking a slew of third-party cases for the iPhone 5 later this month, according to multiple sources. Today at WWDC Apple has officially announced the next version of watchOS for the Apple Watch. watchOS 3 was unveiled by Apple executive Kevin Lynch and includes a variety of changes and enhancements. Highlighting watchOS 3 is a major improvement to the speed of opening apps. Lynch explained that watchOS apps should open instantly and that watchOS 3 finally allows that to be the case. watchOS 3 also repurposes the Apple Watch side button to bring up a “Dock,” which will serve as a place to hold your most-used apps....

After its initial launch in nine countries in April, followed by seven more late last month and a handful of other countries launching later this week, Apple Watch will arrive for customers in New Zealand for the first time on July 31st.
