During its WWDC 2020 keynote today, Apple officially announced iOS 14 for iPhone and iPod touch. The update brings a variety of new features and design changes. Apple has today pushed a minor update to its popular Mac video editing tool Final Cut Pro X. Today’s update brings the app to version 10.4.3 with a few new features. The most notable change in the update is support for viewing and editing ProRes RAW files from the DJI Inspire 2 with the DJI D-Log setting. Today’s version comes out only a month after the previous release, which was also a bug fix update....

While Apple will offer extensive in-store sales and try-on experiences in Apple Stores, the company will also allow customers to virtually try on an Apple Watch or Apple Watch Edition and receive setup support, according to sources. Prior to purchasing either of two higher-end Apple Watches, customers will be able to video chat with an Apple Online Store representative who will personally try-on and model Apple Watch collections and band combinations....

Apple is teaming up with women-owned investment adviser Seelaus Asset Management, according to a new report from Bloomberg. This means that Apple will allocate a portion of its cash to the investment adviser to “support a new one-year rotational job program for women.” The Bloomberg report explains what this means: Seelaus Asset Management called Apple’s move a “step forward” for women-owned asset managers. Apple issued a press release (and updated iOS 4.2 page) ahead of the iOS 4.2 beta that just hit. In it, they detail the new AirPrint standard and its ability to work with HP ePrint printers. To confuse matters slightly, HP offers an iPrint iOS app (pictured below) that does iOS printing. It appears that MacOS 10.6.5 will also allow printing through a Mac with current developer builds offering that functionality....

After months of waiting, Apple’s TV streaming service Apple TV+ is now live. You can start watching on any platform that offers the Apple TV app, from iPhone to iPad to Apple TV and support non-Apple devices, as well as on the web at tv.apple.com. Apple’s TV offering provides no back catalog of content, instead focusing on exclusive originals. While WWDC won’t be for another 6 months at the very least, Apple has today updated its WWDC app with a handful of new features such as supporting the new iPad Pro display sizes. Today’s update brings the app to version 7.1 and is available as a free update on the App Store. It adds a new today widget, as well as 3D Touch actions on the Home screen. Following the addition of a dedicated Sports section a few months ago, users can now use the TV app to access live streaming news content from several different sources… While not as extensive as the Sports interface, the News section in the TV app allows users to instantly access live streaming news content from several different networks. Last week Apple sent out invites for an education focused event set to take place in New York City this Thursday, Jan. 19 at the Guggenheim museum. Originally released back in October, Apple partnered with French leather fashion company Hermès for a lineup of high-end leather bands for the Apple Watch. UK-based electronics repair site iPhonefixed has gotten its hands on one of the sapphire crystal displays to be used in the mid-range and high-end Apple Watch models and put it through a bevy of quick scratch tests to see how it would fare.
