Apple is trying to diversify its supply chain partners apart from only China. The company is focusing its plans on India as well. According to DigiTimes, Apple has reportedly created around 20,000 job opportunities in the country since last year. If it wasn’t for the pandemic, the numbers could be even higher. Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron were committed to creating a certain number of job opportunities when they applied to enter the subsidies program under India’s Production Incentive, as told by DigiTimes....

Apple has announced that it will hold is Q2 2013 financial results earnings call on Tuesday, April 23rd. As usual, the call will be streamed on Apple’s website at 2PM Pacific/ 5 PM Eastern time… This past quarter, Apple released a 128GB version of the fourth-generation iPad and dropped prices on some of the MacBook Pro with Retina display and MacBook Air lines. Apple will resume sales of iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 devices in Germany, after a ruling in December forced the company to halt sales of the two devices for infringing on Qualcomm patents. The legal disputes between Apple and Qualcomm have long dragged out and gone in favor of both sides along the way. While Qualcomm saw a major victory in the court ruling from December, a second lawsuit from January was thrown out in Germany, being described by a patent expert as a ‘nuisance’....

Apple is speaking out against the Environmental Protection Agency’s plan to repeal efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Reuters reports. In a new filing, Apple cites “increased investment uncertainty” for the company and its supplier partners if the Clean Power Plan is reversed. The Clean Power Plan was originally proposed by the previous EPA under President Obama back in 2014. President Trump signed an executive order to review the plan, however, and later decided the Clean Power Plan would not be implemented....

Angela Ahrendts, soon to be ex-CEO of Burberry, is to become a dame today according to the Daily Mail. The retail magnate will become a Dame of the British Empire in a ‘low key’ ceremony according to the British paper, for her contributions to business. The Queen will not be in attendance, apparently. The government’s business secretary Vince Cable will instead lead proceedings. According to the Daily Mail, Cable will congratulate Ahrendts for her restoration of the Burberry brand....

Ahead of tomorrow’s launch of iOS 7, Apple has taken the wraps off of a brand-new iCloud website. The new website went into beta earlier this year, and it is completely redesigned to match the simpler and more animated aesthetic found in the new iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch operating system. The new site is includes all-new applications, including redesigned versions of Mail, Calendar, Reminders, Notes, and Find my iPhone. The new website also includes iWork for iCloud, Apple’s new free suite of online productivity apps (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote)....

As OS X Mountain Lion’s launch nears, Apple has informed developers to start submitting their optimized Mac App Store software for review. OS X Mountain Lion launches later this month with 200 new features. A complete, “Golden Master” version of OS X Mountain Lion was released to developers earlier today, and this is the build that we expect Apple to provide customers with this month. The update will cost $19.99 for Snow Leopard and Lion users, and it will be available via the Mac App Store....

Apple TV+ is posting more viewership stats, with the company announcing that the just-gone weekend saw viewership on the platform rise by 33% to set a new record (via Deadline). The record numbers for the service come as the company launched its latest original film, “Palmer” starring Justin Timberlake, on Friday. In addition to Palmer, Apple is currently airing new episodes of Dickinson and Servant; two of its high-profile launch shows....

Apple today has quietly updated its Beats Pill+ app with support for the iPhone X’s display. The update is the first to come to the app since October of last year and brings it to version 1.7. The only change in this update, according to the release notes, is iPhone X display support. In fact, the app hasn’t seen any notable updates apart from bug fixes and support for additional languages in the last 3 years....

During a presentation with advertisers, CW Network president Mark Pedowitz announced that the network would be expanding its content offerings to new multimedia devices. This strategy will include a spot as an app on the Apple TV set-top-box’s home screen. The network confirmed this to MacRumors: Notably, as noted in the above quote, the CW content will be ad-supported. CW currently streams its content to software on Microsoft Windows devices such as the Xbox....

Further bolstering the presence of third-party social networks in iOS, Apple is testing deep LinkedIn integration for the upcoming release of iOS 7, according to code-based references found inside of the first beta of iOS 7. The code points to a single-sign-on system, similar to how iOS integrates Facebook and Twitter, for LinkedIn accounts. The references also indicate that users will be able to easily post content, such as Web links, to LinkedIn via a share-sheet or through iOS applications…...

Apple TV+ has won the rights to hot Sundance film ‘CODA’, which premiered at the film festival on Friday. The film received a warm reception from early viewers and critics. As reported by Deadline, a bidding war for the film raised prices to a new record for Sundance film, with Apple securing the deal for $25 million. At $25 million for worldwide rights, that makes Apple’s purchase of CODA the biggest deal ever to take place at Sundance, beating out last year’s $22....

Apple TV+’s first British production, the comedy series ‘Trying’, has been renewed for a third season. Season two of the show, which stars Rafe Spall and Esther Smith as the lead couple, will debut on May 14. Trying is a light-hearted comedy that explores the process of adoption. The series will debut its sophomore season episodes on a weekly basis, whereas the first season was dropped all at once on May 1st, 2020....

In addition to Bloomberg joining the Apple TV channel lineup today, a handful of other channels were added as well. Sony’s Crackle service offers a number of television shows and movies without any subscription cost. The new Watch ABC channel features a number of hit TV shows from the broadcaster including the new Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D series, but requires a subscription from a service provider including AT&T, Charter, Comcast, Google Fiber, Verizon FiOS, and others....

It is what is on the inside that counts, right? All Apple Watches are the same under the skin and Casey Neistat, semi-famous for other Apple launch videos, decided he was going to turn his $399 Apple Watch into a $399 Apple Watch with gold spray paint on it. The idea is that passersby would think it was an Edition, and all that comes along with that, I guess. To be honest, the spray paint better matches the “Aluminum Gold” iPhones, iPads and now MacBooks but I have to imagine the button/crown and some of the sensors will take a hit....
