Healthcare company Aetna may be following up on its company-wide initiative by bringing discounted prices of the Apple Watch to millions of its customers. CNBC reports that both Aetna and Apple have been holding meetings over the past week to discuss ways to make this possible. In addition to interviews with the press, Apple is celebrating 30 years of Mac with a full-bleed graphic on its homepage, which links to a minisite that plots how the Mac evolved over the years. Apple has announced on its Investor Relations website that its Q3 2012 results will be released on Tuesday, July 24th. The call will be held at 2PM Pacific/5PM Eastern time. Streaming will be available via QuickTime through Apple’s website. Apple will release OS X Mountain Lion this month, and notably, Apple released OS X Lion – last year – on the day following their Q3 2011 earnings call. Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer used the Q3 2011 call to announce OS X Lion’s availability on the following day....

Apple has posted a note on its official Investor Relations website to indicate that it will be holding its Q3 2014 earnings results announcement and conference call on Tuesday, July 22nd. The call begins at 2PM PT/5PM ET, and Apple usually releases the numbers in the form of a press release around 1:30PM PT/ 4:30PM ET. In the run-up to Saturday’s opening of the first Apple Store in Belgium, Apple has uploaded a video showcasing the artists behind the comic art it is featuring on the hoardings outside the store. Brussels is known for its comic art, with many young artists moving there to further their careers. Apple asked 20 artists to each create five images to help tell the story of the city. The paintings are displayed along with the slogan ‘The creativity continues....

Apple is widely regarded for its intricate supply chain, and a new report from the Wall Street Journal today details the procurement executive currently leading those relationships. Tony Blevins is Apple’s vice president of procurement, and his job is to work closely with suppliers — or, “badgering suppliers to get costs down,” as the report describes. Tim Cook recruited Blevins to join Apple in 2000, with the two having worked together at IBM in the 1990s....

In a strange turn of events, the Apple Online Store page reveals that the Apple Watch Sport actually has two bands bundled in the box. Despite being the cheapest model variant, at $349 for 38mm and $399 for 42 mm, unlike the stainless steel Apple Watch range, the Sport comes bundled with two bands of two different sizes … It is a bit odd, but nevertheless represents a decent deal. The bundled bands are two different sizes, one Small-Medium which fits wrists sized 135mm-156mm, and one Medium-Large which fits wrists sized 165mm-180mm....

Apple has released a new version of the Apple Support app today with useful new integration with the Wallet app. With today’s update, users can now add a pass from the Apple Support app to the Apple Wallet for “easy check-in” at Genius Bar locations. Interestingly, the release notes indicate that today’s update brings this feature to “more Genius Bar locations,” meaning that it was already available at certain Apple Stores....

Apple has informed Mac developers that it is preparing to launch the ability for educational institutions and developers to purchase apps from the Mac App Store in volume for a discount. The upcoming feature was announced in an email: For orders of 20 copies, a discount of 50% to the total order will be applied. This option will not be enabled for developers automatically, but the app sellers will need to enable the feature in iTunes Connect....
