Prior to today, Apple had provided designers with iOS UI templates in formats for popular tools like Sketch and Adobe’s Photoshop and XD. For the first time, resources are now available for one of Apple’s own apps, Keynote. While built as a presentation tool, Keynote has become popular with many designers for prototyping applications....

In terms of smartwatch technology, the Apple Watch Series 5 offers only very minor upgrades over its predecessor, apart from the welcome ability to always have the display on. While the Apple Watch 3 does not have a price hike and offers more storage, many people will find it more appealing to buy the cheaper Apple Watch 3. Greek site Techingreek.com is reporting that Apple Service Providers will be providing after-sales service for Beats headphones and speakers within the country, suggesting that Apple itself may be doing the same in countries with Apple retail stores. The site says that the above message was sent to Apple Service Providers in Greece, stating that they will provide service for Beats Electronics products “in the near future” … The move would be a logical step on the path to fully integrating Beats into the Apple fold following the $3B acquisition back in May....

The families of several of those killed in an EgyptAir plane crash caused by an on-board fire have filed a lawsuit against Apple, alleging that the fire started when one of its devices overheated … EgyptAir Flight 804 crashed into the Mediterranean Sea on 19 May 2016, killing all 66 people aboard. No mayday call was received, but automatic data transmissions from the aircraft showed that smoke had been detected in both a forward bathroom and the avionics bay beneath the cockpit....

Leaving her role as CEO of Burberry to run Apple’s Retail and Online Stores division as senior vice president has garnered a lot of attention for Angela Ahrendts as Apple gears up for selling the Apple Watch starting next year. Apple is holding a training session with new managers to address unionizing tomorrow, reports CNet. The session will be held to address unions in the workplace and take any legal questions they might have. The internal document obtained by CNet said the following: The course will then become a biannual occasion for all of Apple’s retail managers. The push for this course by Apple’s executive team most likely comes after early this year when Apple employees began pushing for the “Apple Retail Workers Union” that would address issues of part-time employees being underpaid....

Apple TV+ has announced the latest addition to its growing library of unscripted programming. The short-form docuseries Greatness Code will premiere globally on July 10 and highlight “renowned athletes” including LeBron James, Tom Brady, and more. Last week, news emerged that a small percentage of App Store apps on iOS devices have been infected by malware injected into versions of Xcode not directly downloaded from Apple’s website. In response to these hacks, Apple has today urged developers to validate their version of Xcode and ensure they only download new versions from Apple. Apple is now allowing developers to test more iOS 9 features with an update to its beta distribution app TestFlight. The updated version enables developers to test faster, native watchOS 2 apps for Apple Watch, including newly gained access to more sensors and custom watch face complications.
